The early history of the automobile can be divided into a number of eras, based on the prevalent means of propulsion. Later periods were defined by trends in exterior styling, size, and utility preferences.
Beginning in 1769 with the first steam-powered automobile capable of human transportation to the mass production of the Ford Model-T in 1913 and even with many of the post WWII models, people have marveled at the science of the automobile.
32nd Annual Antique Car Show
*** This event will be held in-person at Garett D. Wall park! ***
Belvidere will once again host its Antique Car Show at this year’s Victorian Days festival with a special section for Muscle Cars. This event takes place the weekend after Labor Day.
For a car enthusiast, there are endless ways to enjoy cars. You can buy a car and enjoy it yourself or share that experience with others by participating in car shows. In general, antique car shows are great for hobbyists. That is where they can proudly display their vehicle, which often may be part of a larger collection. For others, it is where they can appreciate vehicles owned and maintained by fellow hobbyists. And, believe it or not, every once in a while someone finds an opportunity to add another vehicle to their collection. Couple that with the chance to win some prizes and dash plaques – and you have the making of a spectacular event.
Join us for Victorian Days where guests will be dazzled by the automobile magic of yesteryear. The Annual Antique Car Show will be conveniently held in the center of Belvidere around Garret D. Wall Park. With free access to the show, artisan vendors, live entertainment, demonstrations and lots of Victorian flair, it will certainly be a memorable event. We ask that guests respect the vehicles and refrain from touching them without the owner’s permission.
Owners of vintage and classic cars, and even some more modern beauties, are welcome to register and showcase their vehicles. You can register early by downloading the registration form and submitting it with your registration fee, or you can register the day of the event. There aren’t any requirements for car make, model or year; we simply ask that registered vehicles be in a condition of preservation or restoration that would reflect favorably on the show and hobby. Special prizes and dash plaques will be awarded.
