Once again, we’re thrilled to welcome back Phydeaux’s Flying Fleas! Allow yourself to be whisked back to the age of humbug & flimflam. You’ll be enthralled by the heart stopping, death defying feats of Phydeaux’s famous acrobat fleas and will tremble in awe at the inimitable life changing scientific wonder of the age, Wahoo Miracle Elixir. You’ll find Phydeaux’s roaming about Victorian Days this year!

Victorian Days welcomes The Sasanach for the first time this year! Keith Engle, the Sasanach, plays and teaches traditional Irish fiddle music with a focus on the Sliabh Luachra style. He’ll be offering tunes and background information of traditional Irish music along with pieces on his phonofiddle!

Think you can beat the Baroness at her favorite sport? Find the Beaded Chic vendor booth at Victorian Days and try your hand at tea dueling! Whoever can dunk their biscuit and get it to their mouth without the biscuit falling apart is the winner. …It’s tougher than it sounds! See if you have the nerves to beat a champ!

Once again, Stone Soup Symphony will be bringing classical music to Victorian Days. The Stone Soup Symphony strives to make classical music accessible to everyone: accessible to the public to listen in the form of free concerts, and accessible to musicians to play and grow. They rehearse Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00pm in the First Presbyterian Chapel, 291 Main Street, Hackettstown NJ. Musicians are welcome!

We’re excited to be welcoming back Professor Stephen Davis of Centenary University! Stephen teaches and mentors theatre students at Centenary in addition to working with younger students in educational programs running through theaters throughout New Jersey. His program this year will offer an interactive demonstration of stage combat techniques and background information regarding theater performances during the 19th Century.

Victorian Days welcomes back fiddler Mary Daly! Mary will offer some background information about classic fiddle tunes, and will play selections from Ireland and US folk traditions. Come see her on the main stage and roaming around the festival!

For the first time, Victorian Days is pleased to present the Saturday Night Circus! This ticketed event will include performances by the Strangelove Sideshow and will feature steampunk band extraordinaire This Way to the Egress. TWttE is equal parts unruly vaudeville, ebullient world-beat and three ring circus all the while playing an amalgamation of worldly genres. They catapult the audience with their rambunctious stage show while generating enough energy to light up a small city. A portion of ticket sales go to benefit scholarships for local high school students. We hope to see you at the Circus!

For the second year, Victorian Days gives all participants a chance to show off your best steampunk and 19th century attire. To join in, simply line up near the ticket tent in the park around 5:45pm on Saturday. From there, the Promenade will loop around the park as judges take notes on participants’ garments. Winners for several categories will be chosen and awarded at the end of the Promenade!

…And don’t forget to show off those outfits again on Sunday in the fashion show!

Steampunk Vaudevillians Krystal Younglove and Christopher Strange will be performing at Victorian Days for the first time this year! Come see their stilt walking, feats of strength, and acrobatic wonders!
